Book Club

Laviot's very first book club! We'll be reading and discussing an excerpt from The Coming of Lilith by Judith Plaskow. The story is a modern midrash (Biblical commentary) exploring the relationship between Adam and Lilit, the first "woman" who preceded Eve.

Judith Plaskow is often credited at the first Jewish feminist theologian and her version of Lilit's story re-imagines the character as empowering and positive, rather than the demon she is more generally depicted as.
